Beach Life

One of the larger beaches, the Cala Llonga beach measures approximately 200 metres long and 100 metres wide from the shoreline. It is a high quality beach with fine tanned sand and the resort takes the cleanliness of the beach very seriously.

Picnics, barbeques, bonfires, camping and dogs are all prohibited from the beach. However, all the amenities you need are all very close by including, shops, bars, resturants and snack bars, medical facilities, showers and toilets. Sun beds are scattered liberally across the beach and while the parents are relaxing the children can play in a purpose built wooden playground.

Due to the shape of the bay it is very sheltered even on breezier days and therefore quite safe for swimming, and the shallow water of the bay makes it ideal for snorkelling. However, boats and small local ferries do moor in the bay and swimmers do need to be aware of their presence and movement.

If you the are the type of beach goer who likes to let it all hang out then you will have to use your best judgement in Cala Llonga. Spain has a fairly liberal approach these days to nudism and there are no laws specifically against it in public places. However, as specific beaches and beach areas in Ibiza have been set aside for nudists people who strip everything off outside of these areas are sometimes frowned upon, particularly by the locals. Bare in mind that Cala Llonga is first and foremost a family resort and use your judgement based on what others are doing (which does tend to vary according to weather, season and how busy the beach is). Visitors seeking a more hedonistic beach lifestyle during their holiday maybe better offer heading to the beach at Playa d’en Bossa.
